Sankt Augustin 17-year old attacked in the Siegaue

A 17-year-old girl on a walk with her grandparents’ dog was attacked on Saturday in the Siegaue near Menden by an unknown perpetrator. The police are looking for witnesses.

The young woman was on the road "Auf dem Mirzengrehn" on Saturday about 3.30 pm when she noticed that a man was following her for a long time. She was suddenly attacked from behind by the stranger, near the A59 motorway underpass. According to the police, the perpetrator held her mouth shut with one hand, threatened her with a knife and demanded money.

The 17-year-old was able to convince the man that she had no money with her, and the attacker fled towards Menden. The victim immediately returned to the grandparents, who informed the police.

The fugitive is described as 20 to 25 years old and about 1.75 metres tall. He wore a blue/black sweatshirt with "Camp David" print and dark wide trousers. According to the victim's description, the perpetrator spoke German and smelled of cigarette smoke. The police in Sankt Augustin are asking for information at 02241/5413321.
