Fridays for Future 2,500 participants expected at Bonn demonstration

Bonn · On Friday, the next global day of action for climate protection will take place and demonstrators will also take to the streets in Bonn. "Fridays for Future" expects up to 2,500 participants. Traffic disruption should be expected.

If the “global day of climate action” occurs world-wide on Friday, it will also be visible in Bonn city centre and Poppelsdorf. The Bonn police communicated on Tuesday, that “Fridays for Future Bonn” have announced a demonstration, for which the organisers expect approximately 2,500 participants.

The climate protection demonstrators will gather at about 9.30 am for an initial demonstration on the market square and will then follow the following route through the city centre: Am Hof, Martinsplatz, Maximilianstraße/Busbahnhof, under the pedestrian underpass to, Poppelsdorfer Allee, Meckenheimer Allee, Clemens-August-Straße, Sebastianstraße, Poppelsdorfer Platz, Sebastianstraße Carl-Troll-Straße, Katzenburgweg, Meckenheimer Allee, Poppeldorfer Allee and Am Poppelsdorfer Weiher.

The organisers have planned a second rally in the area of Poppelsdorfer Platz and Carl-Troll-Straße. The demonstration will end with a final rally at about 1 pm in front of Poppelsdorfer Schloss.

The police point out that traffic disruption is to be expected during the event.
