The Bonnlive concert series will soon be moving to the Rheinaue. According to the Bonn organizers Rheinevents and Fünfdrei Eventagentur, they plan to accommodate more than a thousand visitors at the Rheinaue park in the Gronau starting in mid-July. According to GA information, the City of Bonn will approve the the plans. The details are to be presented at a press conference on Friday, as organizer Julian Reininger explains.

Several thousand visitors attended the Bonnlive concerts at the Westwerk over the past three months in their cars. There, internationally renowned artists took the stage. Despite the success of the concert series, it will come to an end on July 5 because the location will be used for other purposes again. From mid-July on, the Rheinaue will be the new location, but without cars, as Reininger explains. "We'll have several areas where we'll accommodate the visitors." Over a period of one and a half months there will be rock, pop, and electro-music concerts, comedy and theater. The major sponsors are Telekom, Deutsche Post DHL and Bechtle.

According to Reininger, this should result in "the largest open-air arena in compliance with all current corona protection measures". Up until now, the Lanxess-Arena in Cologne has accommodated the most people with around 1,000 visitors. Plexiglass boxes are set up in the arena to give guests their own spaces, while the stage is located in the middle of the arena.
