A superstar was in town and hardly anyone noticed - except the employees of the logistics company DHL of Deutsche Post. On Wednesday, DHL celebrated its 50th anniversary with Canadian rock star Bryan Adams. His performance on the KunstRasen grounds was the highlight of the celebrations. However, Bryan Adams was not only on stage at the KunstRasen venue. Before the performance on the Rhine, there was also a short guest performance in the Maritim Hotel: there, the Canadian played in front of 500 top managers of the logistics company, who were flown in from all over the world especially for the event. Sven West, the new singer of the "Robbers", also performed there - singing a revamped version of "Summer of '69" with the managers. Post boss Frank Appel then surprisingly introduced the original artist, Bryan Adams. Who later of course also visited the Post Tower.

5,000 employees were invited to the celebration at the KunstRasen venue. The theme was "Summer of '69" (the year DHL was founded). Many guests came dressed as hippies. Everyone received a welcome gift consisting of a bag, Bryan-Adams T-shirt and a CD. The top managers got red hoodies. Photos and videos, which were published by guests in the social networks, show the effort behind the parties. The KunstRasen was lavishly staged, seating was created, protected from rain by large round roofs.

Guests got festival ribbons with the party theme and the hashtag "#50YearsOfDHL" on them, and there were some activities for the staff: a VW hippie bus (with flower and big "Love" sticker), an "Outfit" contest, "Hau den Lukas" and the "Crazy Dancer", a ride. "I've never experienced anything like this at DHL before," said a DHL employee.

Despite all the fun, there was also criticism of the giant celebration. Because the company will increase the parcel postage in 2020 due to the high personnel and transport costs. The DHL press office said that they wanted to thank "their dedicated and hard-working colleagues in Bonn" with the party. Orig. text: Maximilian Mühlens Translation: Carol Kloeppel
