Bacteria contamination Milk recall in Germany: These brands are affected
Bremen · Deutsche Milchkontor DMK and Fude + Serrahn have launched a large-scale recall of fresh low-fat milk in supermarkets and discount grocery stores. We list the products affected.
The Deutsche Milchkontor (DMK), which calls itself the largest German dairy cooperative, and the company Fude + Serrahn are withdrawing one of their products from the market. Consumption of the product could cause diarrhea. The recall published on Friday morning concerns "fresh low-fat milk 1.5% fat" in a one-liter carton.
During routine checks, the two companies reported that the bacteria "Aeromonas hydrophila/caviae" had been found in "individual products". This could "lead to health problems such as diarrhea," they said. The supermarkets supplied - including Metro, Aldi, Edeka, Rewe and Lidl - reacted immediately and the goods were taken off the shelves as a precautionary measure.
The DMK Group says it processes milk at more than 20 locations, including Germany and the Netherlands, with around 7,700 employees. "As one of the largest suppliers to the German food retail trade and with a turnover of 5.6 billion euros, the DMK Group is one of Europe's leading dairy companies," the company reports.

According to the information provided, only the following products bearing the marking DE NW 508 EG and the specified expiration dates (MHD) listed here are affected:

ALDI North: Milsani fresh milk 1,5 % fat with MHD 15.10.2019/ 18.10.2019/ 20.10.2019
ALDI South: Milfina fresh milk 1.5 % fat with MHD 10.10.2019/ 14.10.2019
Kaufland: K-Classic Fresh milk 1.5 % fat with MHD 14.10.2019/ 15.10.2019/ 18.10.2019
Lidl: Milbona Fresh milk 1,5 % fat with MHD 13.10.2019/ 14.10.2019/ 16.10.2019/ 18.10.2019

Products with different best-before dates and ones with the same MHD but different identification marks are not affected.
