Near the City Hall 19-year-old attacks police officer in Bad Godesberg
BAD GODESBERG · A 19-year-old man injured a police officer on Monday night. Witnesses had reported prior to this incident that a homeless man had been attacked.
An inebriated young man insulted and injured a police officer during Monday to Tuesday night. As the police reported, the officers had checked the 19-year-old’s personal details after witnesses had alerted the police. According to their reports several persons had harassed or attacked a homeless man.
The police arrived at the scene to find several young men standing around a homeless man. Criminal behaviour did not seem to be apparent. The officers checked the youths present. The 19-year-old in question refused to provide identification and insulted the officers as „Nazi policemen“. When he hit one of the policemen over the head, the other officers, who arrived in the meantime, brought him to the ground and pinned him down. The 19-year-old kept defending himself and kicked a policeman in the chest, so that he sustained minor injuries.
The 19-year-old, who is said to have been inebriated, was taken into police custody. He was charged with insulting behaviour and civil disorder against police officers. A blood test was ordered. According to the police he was known already for offences in regard to violent crime and breaches of the narcotics act.
