Upset in Bad Godesberg Advertising obscures posters for local referendum

Bad Godesberg · Just before the end of the local referendum regarding the new swimming pool construction, the opposition group feel slighted, because some of their posters aren’t visible anymore. They are covered by advertising for the next flea market.

The annoyance is written all over Joachim Schäfer’s face. The man from the „Bürger.Bad.Godesberg“ association had noticed on Monday that the posters on which the opponents of the new water world were promoting a Yes vote in the current local referendum were covered by advertising for the new Godesberg flea market. At first Schäfer presumed that the Bad Godesberg City Marketing had began to support the proponents of the construction. But after a few conversations he now assumes that „thoughtlessness, and not intent“ led to the situation.

Until Friday the citizens of Bonn can vote for or against the new construction of a pool in Bonn-Dottendorf. On Saturday the votes will be counted. The opponents had hung up 150 double-posters in Bad Godesberg and the surrounding areas, all with permission by the public order office. „Just like in an election, we have to take them down afterwards“, reports Schäfer. Two staff members of the City Marketing group were patrolling on Monday to check the posters and to make any necessary correction.

„We didn’t do anything to annoy the ‚Bürger.Bad.Godesberg‘ group“, says Bruder. On the contrary: Their events get also advertised by the marketing group.
