Witnesses in a fist fight Beuel: 55-year-old demolished police car with hammer

Beuel · A 55-year-old hit a police patrol car with a hammer in front of the city hall in Beuel. A fight between two witnesses also escalated. They ended up in a fist fight.

The incident will probably be listed as one of the rather strange cases in the curiousity list of the Bonn police. As police spokesperson Robert Scholten reported, the officers of the patrol unit were called to a parked patrol car outside the city hall in Beuel around 3.20pm on Monday afternoon, because a man seemed to be hitting the vehicle with a hammer.

Indeed, the 55-year-old had already broken all the windows and was attacking the car chassis when they arrived. He was arrested on the spot. Because the man showed signs of a psychological condition, he was admitted to the Rheinische Kliniken. The damage is estimated to be several thousand Euro.

During the incident a fight between two witnesses who had called the police escalated. According to Scholten, the fight turned physical between the 30-year-old and the 39-year-old and an ambulance had to be called. After first aid was administered, the helpful and aggressive witnesses were brought to a hospital.
