7-hour worldwide live stream Bonn AoT team hosts the two-hour European astro-vaganza Thursday night

Bonn · To mark the seventh orbit-versary of the very first Astronomy on Tap event in NYC, satellite locations around the world are merging to ignite a seven hours for seven orbits astro-vaganza of content from across the globe. The European part of the event is being organised by the Bonn section of the science entertainment organisation.

Astronomy on Tap is a worldwide constellation of public outreach events in which professional astronomers give entertaining presentations, usually at a local bar, on topics of broad interest in astronomy and astrophysics. The evenings provide accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to galaxies to the beginning of the universe.

Presenters are from local research and educational institutions. Like in Bonn, where the AoT events usually take place in the Fiddlers Pub on the last Tuesday of every month, where people normally – outside Corona times – get together for a bite and a sip of astronomy. Like the American counterparts the Bonn team organises talks, quizzes, prizes and much more in this science entertainment series of events.

But now that everybody is at home on the couch, the organisers advise: „Make sure you bring your own beverage to.... drink in the universe…!“

On Thursday, April 9, seven hours of Astro on Tap will be available on the HQ YouTube channel, and all interested are invited to enjoy a variety of talks and live Q&A on astronomy, while using #AoTotC on social media.
