19th Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn Marathon route and traffic restrictions

Bonn · On Sunday, April 7, marathon runners will start off from Bonn's city center. The entire route will be closed off to traffic, with road closures affecting motorists and also public transportation.

When the Deutsche Post Marathon begins in Bonn on Sunday, April 7, there will be street closures along the route. The marathon takes runners through the city via Friedrichstrasse, Kasernenstrasse, Belderberg and Sandkaule. As a result, these streets and others in the city center will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The residents on the Beuel side of the Rhine will have to reckon with somewhat shorter disruptions. The Kennedy Bridge, Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, Limpericher Straße, Auf der Schleide, Rudolf-Hahn-Straße and Landgrabenweg to T-Mobile are closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. there.

Affected as well are the streets from Wachsbleiche along Römerstraße, Welschnonnenstraße, Belderberg, Sandkaule, Adenauerallee, Bundeskanzlerplatz to Welckerstraße. In the city center, the areas Oxfordstrasse from Wilhelmstrasse to Kennedybrücke, Rathausgasse, Am Hof, Wesselstrasse, Am Neutor and Am Hofgarten are also affected from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

From 9 p.m. on Saturday, 6 April, many no-stopping areas will be in effect until the end of the event. Incorrectly parked vehicles will be towed away - at the expense of the vehicle owners.

For runners arriving in the morning and visitors coming to the event with cars, it is recommended to use the Friedensplatz parking garage and the Stadthaus parking garage. The entire marathon route will be closed to road traffic on Sunday.

The turning point is located in front of the autobahn junction Bonn-Ramersdorf. From there the route leads via Rhenusallee, Elsa-Brandström-Straße, Hermannstraße, Friedrich-Breuer-Straße, Rheinaustraße, Combahnstraße and Professor-Neu-Allee back via Kennedybrücke. Residents have access to their home entrances as usual, but access by car is not possible. Information about closures and detours can be obtained from the road traffic authority on Monday, April 1, under the telephone number 0228/772318.

SWB Bus und Bahn offers shuttle services with buses for participating athletes. If you park your car at the north bridge, you can be shuttled to Friedensplatz from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. the service is then available in the opposite direction.
