Once again the Bonn police received a bomb threat for the Bonn main station. On Tuesday evening, the threat was received by telephone at about 6:30 pm. According to the police's initial findings, the threatening call came from the telephone booth on Bischofsplatz. The federal police led the operation. The main station had to be closed and cleared again. According to GA-information, a bomb defuser and four sniffer dogs were also on site.

A spokesman for the federal police confirmed the receipt of a bomb threat upon GA inquiry. About 30 officers were on duty. The search was completed at 8:45 pm. The main station was opened again at 11pm without any suspicious object having been found.

Long-distance traffic was directed via the right side of the Rhine - i.e. the Beueler station - according to a spokesman for the German Railway. On Twitter, the "DB Regio AG - NRW" writes about "police investigations" which result in "delays and partial cancellations". Passengers were asked to check their connections before the train left. Deutsche Bahn further announced that trains would be rerouted between Cologne and Koblenz, causing delays of up to 30 minutes. They did not stop at Bonn central station, Remagen and Andernach. Substitute stops in Bonn-Beuel have been established.

National Express announced that the trains of line RE5 coming from Wesel will shuttle between Wesel and Brühl. Those coming from Koblenz shuttled between Koblenz Central Station and Bonn-Bad Godesberg. The company also announced that trains of the RB48 line from Solingen shuttled between Solingen main station and Roisdorf.

In addition, an emergency taxi service had been set up to reach the stops in Bonn.

Both the train lines 61 and 62 and the regular bus services were not affected by the bomb threat and continued to run, according to a spokeswoman for the Bonn public utility company. According to GA information, travellers had switched to the city railways of lines 16, 18, 63, 66 and 68, which were also not affected by the closure.

Witnesses who made observations in the area of the telephone booth on Bischofsplatz on Tuesday evening are asked to call 0228-150.

Only on Sunday, an unknown caller had threatened to "blow up a bomb" at Bonn's main train station by phoning the Bonn police control center. The result was a blockade of the station for hours and considerable obstruction of rail traffic. The emergency services had not found anything.
