Restaurant Guide “Brauhäuschen” in Lohmar

Lohmar · This weeks restaurant guide takes us just outside of Bonn. Located near Siegburg, “Brauhäuschen” is a traditional German, rustic restaurant which caters to both young and old.

In Lohmar, about a 20-minute drive from Bonn (near Siegburg), married couple Monika Falk and Ralf Maier have been running the traditional “Brauhäuschen” since 2002. It has the rustic feeling of a Brauhaus with ceiling beams and oak wood tables. Seating space indoors accommodates 60 persons and an outdoor terrace out back offers seating for 40.

On the menu is “Taxi schnitzel” covered with cheese and sauce hollandaise, baked in the oven, along with fries and salad (11.50 euros), Argentinian rumpsteak - 200 grams, with fried potatoes and salad (18.60 euros), platter of beef and pork filet with croquettes, asparagus and mushroom cream sauce (15.50 euros). Beverages include Gaffel Kölsch beer and Bitburger Pils for 1.40 euros (0.2 l).

On tap is Paulaner Hefeweizen for 3.50 euros (0.5l). Paulaner Weizenbier by the bottle costs 3.20 euros (0.5l). Nine different wines including Pino gris from Martin Schongauer (Baden) or Tempranillo Crianza von Condesa de Leganza (Spain) are offered at 4.30 euro (0.2l). On Wednesdays, it’s beer day and Kölsch and Pils are on special offer at 1.10 euros (0.2l). Weizenbier is on special for 3 euros (0.5l). Guests to the restaurant are both young and old.
