“Goodbye German?” British humor and the future of the German language

Bonn.  · British professor to talk about his experiences with the German language. He will explore the outlook for the future of German as a foreign language – with British humor and facts.

John Goodyear, Deputy Chair of the German-British Society, will speak at the Oxford Club about his experience with the German language – with a healthy mix of facts and British humor.

His speech is titled “Auf Wiedersehen German?” He explores the developments of German as a foreign language and what future it has in the English curriculum since demand for it has dwindled.

Goodyear is also Director of the Academy of English and will share his experiences as a student of the German language as well as his teaching experiences. His talk will be in English, and will take place Jan. 29, Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Oxford Club on Adenauerallee 7. Everyone is welcome.
