Drug find in Bad Godesberg Cannabis plants in Arcadia Passage

Bad Godesberg · A neighbor’s fine nose leads police to cannabis cultivators in the Arcadia Passage in Bad Godesberg.

It was a typical sweet smell in the stairway of the building that drew a neighbor’s attention. And it was because of this that police discovered an illegal marijuana plantation in the basement of the Arcadia Passage on Koblenzer Straße. Suspects are a 20-year-old and his 26-year-old accomplice; neither of them have a previous police record.

After a first visit, police also were suspicious of the smell and obtained a search warrant for the basement. A lock service was able to open up the basement room where 16 plants were found. It is estimated they would have produced about 600 grams of marijuana. Additionally, police discovered 500 grams of the finished drug marijuana, and many utensils using in growing and processing the plants, including fertilizer, fans and a weigh scale.

In April of 2015, police made a larger discovery, a Cannabis plantation with 1,475 plants in Bornheim-Walberberg. They estimated the street value of those processed plants at 240,000 euro. Several thousand euros in cash were also found there in a raid. Another cannabis plantation was found in a home in Lohmar in September 2015. The men charged with cultivating the drugs were sentenced to several years in jail.
