Coronavirus City of Bonn registers 17 new infections within seven days

Bonn · The federal and state governments have defined an upper limit for the number of new infections. In Bonn these are currently far below this limit, as proven by the current case numbers of the city.

The number of new infections with Sars-Cov2 in Bonn within the last seven days was 17 according to the city council, which means that with 330,000 inhabitants in Bonn, the number is 5.15 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. This puts the city below the upper limit of 50 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants, for which the federal and state governments had introduced an emergency mechanism.

According to the city, 59 people are currently acutely ill with Covid-19 in Bonn. The total number of cases since February 29th is 688. 623 people have recovered in the meantime. Six people died as a result of an infection.

At present, 33 people suffering from Covid-19 are being treated in Bonn hospitals, 14 of them in intensive care. Nine patients require respiratory aid.
