Cologne Cathedral Climber films from top of the Dome
Cologne · “Visual Enemies” scaled the Cologne Cathedral and posted their spectacular video on YouTube.
Adventurous but unknown nighttime climbers scaled to the top of the landmark Cologne Cathedral and shot a 3 ½ minute video from way up high. The video from the climb was posted Friday on YouTube from an anonymous group, calling themselves “Visual Enemies.” It is not clear when the video was actually shot.
Because the video begins with scenes of people in costumes at the Cologne Hauptbahnhof (central train station), it could indicate that it was filmed in recent days of Karneval. Something similar happened in 2013, when two Russian climbers scaled the Cologne landmark.
Free climbing may be a thrilling sport but it is obviously life threatening – especially from the heights of the mighty Dome. Even if it looks good, don’t feel compelled to try it out yourself! (Orig. text: Angelika Praus)
