Police search Criminal flees at exit in Neuwied

A criminal escaped from an escorted walk in Neuwied. The police searches for the 52-year-old man with a photo and asks for clues.

Police are using a photo to search for a criminal who used an escortedwalk in Neuwied as a chance to escape on Monday afternoon. The man, who is accommodated in a psychiatric hospital, was accompanied to go shopping when he took flight. The Neuwied police announced on Tuesday that they did not rule out the 52-year-old being aggressive towards other people.

According to the clinic, the man was in therapy for attempted sexual assault, which he had committed in a state of diminished guilt, among other things. Since June of last year, he has been allowed to leave the premises accompanied by others and has already done so several times without complaint. There were no indications of a planned escape.

The man is about 1.70 metres tall, has a full black beard and long dark hair. He was last seen dressed in black trousers, a dark jacket, a camouflage sweater, a black cap and black shoes.

The Neuwied police inspectorate (0 26 31/87 80) and any other police station will receive information about the man's current whereabouts.
