A total of 40 people were tested for Covid-19 on the first day of operation of the new rapid test center at the Arbeitnehmer-Zentrum Königswinter (AZK) on Johannes-Albers-Allee in Niederdollendorf. Timo Bollé and Tobias Cronenberg, project managers of the service provider takecare24, run the test center. Since last Wednesday, free testing for residents has been available at the new location.

As reported, the cities of Königswinter and Bad Honnef have been working closely together in recent weeks to ensure the most comprehensive rapid testing service possible in the Siebengebirge. In the fight against an increasing number of cases, they want it to be possible for residents to have a Covid-19 rapid test once a week. And it should be made simple and done in an approved test center, or in physicians' practices and pharmacies. "I am pleased that we have entered into a cooperation with the city of Bad Honnef to find easily accessible locations for rapid corona tests, and that in the course of this we have also been able to find a professional provider for the test sites," said Königswinter's mayor Lutz Wagner, who took a look at the new service in Niederdollendorf.

Lists of testing opportunities close to home are already available on the city websites of Königswinter and Bad Honnef. In the coming days, the services will be further expanded. At the AZK in Niederdollendorf, there are appointments for rapid tests from Monday to Sunday, 12 pm to 6 pm. Starting on Friday, April 2, the test center will be open Mondays through Sundays from 12 pm to 7 pm.

To sign up and register in advance, one can visit: covid19-testzentrum.com. The test result can be accessed via QR code about 15 minutes after the test is completed. A drive-through test center is expected to go into operation in Oberpleis next week. On Wednesday, March 31, at 12 pm., a drive-through test center will open in the large parking lot at the final station of tram line 66 in Bad Honnef. There, people can get tested without leaving their cars. But it will also be available to those on foot or bicycle, according to Hartmut Kreutz, owner and operator of the test center. He recommends making an appointment in advance at: abstrich.termin-direkt.de. The actual test takes only a few seconds. The test result is certified and comes per email about 30 minutes after the test. Tests are also possible without an appointment, says Kreutz.

For more information and appointments, please visit: covid19-testzentrum.com (AZK Niederdollendorf) and abstrich.termin-direkt.de[Link auf https://abstrich.termin-direkt.de/public/] (Bad Honnef).
