Emergency services at the Kennedy bridge Fire brigade in Bonn was looking for possible person in the Rhine

Bonn · On Friday afternoon, the fire brigade searched for a person who was suspected to have fallen in the Rhine. Several boats and a helicopter were in action near the Kennedy Bridge in Bonn.

Because of a person who was thought to have jumped into the Rhine from the Kennedy Bridge, the Bonn fire brigade started a large-scale search operation early on Friday evening. Around 40 firefighters were deployed on boats, bridges and on the banks. An initially requested helicopter was able to stand down during the approach.

According to the local fire brigade, a person had been reported hanging from the Kennedy bridge who might have then fallen into the Rhine. However, since no one had seen the jump directly and the information in the emergency call was vague, the search was finally called off after one hour. Contrary to initial reports, no divers were in action.
