Detonation Sunday Front row seats available for 200 people

BONN · For those still looking for a place to view the detonation of the Bonn Center on Sunday, 200 rooftop viewing places are being offered by the national art museum. Tickets must be purchased there, beginning at 10 am Thursday morning.

Good viewing places for Sunday’s detonation of Bonn Center are a rarity. The Bundeskunsthalle, which is the national art museum recognizable by the three blue cones on top, is offering 200 viewing places from its rooftop garden. From there, people will be able to see the top ten to twelve floors of the Bonn Center as they cave in and collapse.

Following the detonation at 11 am, ticket holders will be able to visit the art exhibitions, “Katharina Sieverding. Art and Capital” and “A Brief History of Humankind:

100,000 Years of Cultural History.” The rooftop garden is open from 10 am until 12 pm.

Tickets for this event are available beginning at 10 am on Thursday, March 16, exclusively at the ticket counter of the Bundeskunsthalle, Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 4. Orders per e-mail or phone are not possible, according to the press department. Tickets costs 17 euros, discounted tickets are 11.50 euros, and a family ticket is 26 euros (all include entrance to the exhibitions).

People are advised to use public transportation to arrive at the art museum because many of the surrounding streets will be closed. Tram lines 16, 63 and 66 will not travel between 10:55 am and 11:15 am. Bus lines 610 and 611 will not travel between the Bonn central train station stop and the Heussallee stop beginning at 7:15 am.

ga.de will report on Sunday from 8 am on location and will have a live video stream of the detonation. More info. at ga.de/bonncenter
