BONN/REGION · Rainy day in the forecast? No problem. Here’s some tips of what to do in Bonn and the surrounding area when bad weather chases everyone indoors.

We all know this scenario: You are ready to have a nice day outdoors with friends or family, but the weather doesn’t cooperate so you think about just staying home instead. But there’s no need to sit idle. We’ve put together a list with a wide variety of activities, and the good news is that none of them are dependent on nice weather.

Live Escape Games in Bonn

This is exciting and offers variety and a bit of adventure as well. In the game, a group of people are locked up in a room from which they must free themselves. It’s all about teamwork: Within an hour, secret messages must be discovered and combined with certain hints in order to solve the puzzle. Players are filmed with a video during the game and can receive tips if necessary. There are two places that offer this game in Bonn:

Escape Rooms from "60 Minutes":

"60 Minutes" is in two locations. "Die geheime Formel" can be found in Alfred-Buchererstrasse 57. "The Mafia Clan" and "Geisterstunde" on Endenicher Allee 27 are two further options.

In all of those Escape Rooms the following rates apply:

  • Two-person team: 64 euros
  • Three-person team: 84 euros
  • Four-person team: 100 euros
  • Five-person team: 115 Euro
  • Six-person team: 120 euros

Escape Rooms offered by "Fluchtgefahr":

This firm offers five rooms at Endenicher Straße 282, "Sherlock", "Tatort", "Robin", „Kuckucksnest 1“ and „Kuckucksnest 2“.

Rates for these Escape Rooms:

  • Two-person team: 80 euros
  • Three-person team: 90 euros
  • Four-person team: 110 euros
  • Five-person team: 120 Euro
  • Six-person team: 135 euros

Climbing hall “Boulders Habitat” in Bonn

What does it feel like to be at the top? Climbing is not only fun, it represents a challenge that must be overcome with skill and strength.

The "Boulders Habitat" climbing hall is located at Siemensstraße 20 in Bonn. Rates are as follows:

  • Day ticket for adults 18-years-old and up: 10,90 euros
  • Day ticket for children 3 to 12-years-old: 6.90 euros
  • Day ticket for families (two adults, two children): 30 euros

“Sea Life” in Königswinter

The"Sea Life" center in Königswinter offers a unique experience for the whole family. Here you can walk through glass aisles that lead through a huge aquarium and are surrounded by water all around. In the underwater zoo there are numerous marine animals, including sharks, rays and water turtles.

“Sea Life” is located in Königswinter on Rheinallee 8, and the following prices apply:

  • Admission for adults 15-years-old and over: 10.45 euros (online) or 14.95 euros (on location)
  • Admission for children (3 to 14-years-old): 8,35 Euro (online) or 11,95 Euro (on location)

Indoor Soccer halls in Bonn

There are a few choices where you can go to kick some soccer balls. Here are some location and prices.

"Soccer Center Bonn": Bonner Logsweg 131 in Bonn-Lessenich.

  • Mondays to Fridays 10 am to 2 pm: 28 euros / per hour per field
  • Mondays to Fridays 2 pm to 5 pm: 44 euros / per hour per field
  • Mondays to Fridays 17 to 23 hours: 54 euros / per hour per field
  • Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10am - 12pm: 44 euros / per hour per field
  • Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 12pm - 11pm: 54 euros / per hour per field

„Sportmeile“: Otto-Hahn-Straße 96 in Bonn-Buschdorf.

  • Mondays to Fridays 11am - 2pm: 22 euros / 45 minutes on one field
  • Mondays to Fridays 2 - 5 pm: 32 euros / 45 minutes on one field
  • Mondays to Fridays 5 - 11pm: 42 euros / 45 minutes on one field
  • Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 10:15 am - 12.30 pm: 32 euros / 45 minutes on one field
  • Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 12.30 - 9 pm: 42 Euro / 45 minutes on one field

“Piratenland” in Bonn

This is a huge indoor play area for children. There is a big climbing apparatus in the shape of a ship, a bouncy castle and even a mini go-cart track.

“Piratenland” is located at Otto-Hahn-Strasse 96 in Bonn-Buschdorf. Rates are as follows:

  • Admission for children from 2 - 12-years-old years: 7.50 euros
  • Entrance fee for adults: 3.50 euros
  • After 5 pm: rates are reduced by half

“Lasertag Area” in Troisdorf

Another popular leisure activity is Lasertag. It is similar to paintball, except that everyone is equipped with a laser gun that sends laser beams to hit vests worn by participants. The vests have sensors that take the “laser hits.”

One mission in the "Lasertag Area Troisdorf" takes 15 minutes and costs seven euros. If you pay for several games at a time, you can save a little money. More details can be found on the website.

Bowling centers

In the region, there are also some bowling centers where you can spend time bowling with family and friends.

One of these is the "Bowling Arena Spich" on Heinkelstraße 1 in Troisdorf. The prices vary depending on the day and time and range between 2.50 euros and 4.50 euros per game and person.

Another is the "Pin-up" bowling center at Johann-Philipp-Reis-Strasse 7 in Bornheim. Again the prices vary according to the day and time, ranging from 2.60 euros to 4.50 euros per game and person.

Indoor Minigolf “Glowing Rooms” in Cologne

We continue our list with Minigolf - yes, that can also be done inside. A very impressively designed indoor mini-golf course is "Glowing Rooms" in Cologne. The minigolf courses are in neon colors and equipped with black light. In addition, 3D effects can be experienced using special glasses.

“Glowing Rooms” is located on Venloer Straße 383 in Cologne. Prices are as follows:

  • Admission for adults (Monday to Thursday): 9 euros
  • Admission for adults (Friday to Sunday): 11 euros
  • Admission for children from 6 - 12- years-old: 7.50 euros
  • Admission free for children up to five years

“Jumphouse” in Cologne

Cologne has even more to offer: A special and very popular attraction is the "Jump-House". Here, a large hall consists entirely of trampolines and contains various jumping devices.

It’s located on Köhlstraße 10 in Cologne. Prices are as follows:

  • 60 minutes jumping time: 12 euros per person
  • 90 minutes jumping time: 18 euros per person
  • 120 minutes jumping time: 24 euros per person

Indoor Paintball in Cologne

Load your weapons and get into the game: With paintball, Playstation games like “Call of Duty” are more realistic. Here, every player has a hand-held air gun, which is equipped with color balls. If you are hit, you will not only get a splash of color, but it’s also unavoidable that it hurts a little as well - so do not forget to cover!

In Cologne there is a great opportunity to play paintball in a hall in inclement weather. It’s at the "Adrenalinpark", which can be found next to the Jumphouse on Köhlstraße 10 in Cologne. This is the price list:

  • 200 Paintballs / two hours stay (including rental equipment): 35 euros per person
  • 500 Paintballs / two hours stay (including rental equipment): 49 euros per person
