The Marriott-Hotel in Cologne is very busy. Models sit in front of illuminated make-up mirrors and are made up by make-up artists. Other models have made themselves comfortable on chairs, read messages on their smartphones and chat. Some pose for a photographer. They are all preparing for their evening appearance at the Lambertz Monday Night in the waiting room at the cathedral near Cologne Central Station on Monday afternoon.

Hermann Bühlbecker, sole owner of the Aachen-based Henry Lambertz print and chocolate factory, invites stars and starlets from Germany and abroad to the Rhine every year as part of the International Confectionery Fair. This year's party, which has the motto "Wild Chocolate Party", traditionally features a show at which prominent models present chocolate fashion. Right in the middle of it: Johannes Laschet. The man of choice from Bonn is an expert in classic men's fashion, blogger and above all successful influencer, who currently has more than 91,000 followers on Instagram.

The photos he posts there always show the law student elegantly dressed and are mainly taken in the southern part of Bonn. But you can also discover the art museum, the banks of the Rhine, and time and again the main building of Bonn University. Either his girlfriend takes the pictures or a photographer friend takes them. "There are so many beautiful buildings in Südstadt - you can take great pictures there. It's a mecca for bloggers," the 30-year-old tells the GA. One of the things he says is that he always gets "interested looks" from passers-by. What he appreciates about Bonn is the peace and quiet and above all the fact that you can still feel the flair of the "old republic" in many corners.

His father also studied law in Bonn

The young man was born in Aachen. Lambertz has therefore always been familiar to him. "Last year I was a guest at Monday Night, today I'm standing on the catwalk," he reports. That's why they rehearsed eagerly in the run-up to the event. "It's not so easy to run in rhythm with the music on the catwalk," he says. While he presents his suit decorated with chocolate and a suitcase full of Mozartkugeln, "Eye of the Tiger" is running in the background.

In 2009 Laschet came to Bonn to study law - this year he is finishing his studies. In doing so, the young man has followed in big footsteps: His father, NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet, also studied law in Bonn. It is normal for Johannes Laschet that he is always asked about his father because of his prominent surname. "That's part of it," he says with a laugh. He can also laugh about the fact that many compare him to Hollywood star Ryan Gosling because of his striking resemblance.

Style-conscious and classic: A great friend of men's fashion

But his passion is not acting, but classic men's fashion. After his studies he has therefore undertaken a number of projects: Among other things, he wants to write a book and give lectures on men's fashion. Because in his opinion, chic and classic men's fashion is currently celebrating a revival. "To dress elegantly and style-consciously as a man is cool", says Laschet. He makes a point of not dressing up for his photos at Instagram under any circumstances. "I always walk around like this. Casual dress is not really for me," he reveals.

As much as Laschet likes Bonn, he lacks the right shops for men's fashion in the federal city. "For beautiful menswear you have to go to Cologne", Laschet says. Because there you would still find the small, fine and fancy fashion boutiques for men.

He also passes on his knowledge and his feeling for good style to his father. "We often go shopping for clothes together - especially suits and shoes. Just the other day we were out and about again. I like giving him tips very much", says Laschet. His father shows a good hand in choosing ties. "He can do that", he says laughing. The fact that his father is also a guest of Monday Night does not make him nervous: "On the contrary, it is even easier for me to walk on the catwalk", he reveals.
