Search for missing cat Kalle the cat frightened but safe
Bonn · Old town landlord Tobias Epping is overjoyed that he and British Shorthair cat are back together . The animal was found scared but safe in a neighbouring garden.
Altstadt landlord Tobias Epping is delighted his cat Kalle is back home. The animal, who had been missing since Wednesday night, was found in a neighbouring garden thanks to a large-scale search operation. As reported, Epping's call for a help was spread widely, especially via Facebook and the General-Anzeiger. It was successful.
Epping posted the good news on Facebook: "First of all, a huge thank you from us to you, to nebenan.de, the General-Anzeiger, @tasso and simply everyone who has been rooting for us." The call for help on social media had been shared more than a thousand times. "Every time there was an unknown number on my phone display over the last few days, my pulse went up," reported the owner of the four-year-old cat.
Via the Facebook neighbourhood portal nebenan.de, a new Bonn resident finally got in touch after finding the cat in their back garden on Riegelerstraße - just a short distance from his home near Bonn's Verteilerkreis. During the telephone conversation with the finder, Epping could already hear his frightened pet meowing in the background. When he saw him again, Kalle jumped into his master's arms, overjoyed.
As the GA reported, the animal welfare organisation Tasso e.V., which runs Europe's largest free pet registry, reports about 90,000 cats and 32,000 dogs are reported missing every year. Identification and registration with Tasso helps to find the animals again.
