A 75-year-old man has overturned his Mercedes after driving at speed into a road barrier. The accident happened on Friday morning on the A3 at Bad Honnef on the Königswinter bound side of the motorway at the Siebengebirge junction. Police said a 75-year-old man collided with a road barrier. The car took off and overturned.
The Mercedes landed on a parking construction vehicle.The driver had life-threatening injuries and had to be taken to hospital in Mehrheim by a rescue helicopter. A 55-year-old construction worker was also seriously injured. Only one lane of the motorway is currently open. There are tailbacks of six kilometres.
