Bayern in Rhineland Oktoberfest: Here’s where you can party in and around Bonn!

BONN AND REGION · Do you want to celebrate Oktoberfest but can't make the long trip to Munich? Don't worry, there's plenty of Oktoberfest parties right here in Bonn and the region.

Oktoberfest is already underway in Munich. This means “Weißwürschtl”, the traditional sausage is being served by the scores, along with pretzels and a good dose of beer. But if you think you can only celebrate in Munich, this would be quite wrong. Bonn and the surrounding area offer plenty of opportunities to celebrate the festive tradition, which stems from Bayern in southern Germany but has become popular all over the world.

The Brückenforum in Bonn, the Rheinalm at Bonner Bogen and the giant tent at Cologne Südstation - these are just a few places offering genuine Oktoberfest parties. With dirndls and lederhosen, visitors can enjoy great music, tasty food and a fantastic mood. If you are gearing up to go, here’s a list to plan out your Oktoberfest party route:

1 Bonner Oktoberfest

Bonner Oktoberfest at the Bonn Brückenforum on Oct. 2, Sun. from 7 p.m. Visitors can expect a great mood, music, beer and more. Address: Friedrich-Breuer-Str. 17, Bonn

2 Rheinalm on Bonner Bogen

Sept. 24, Sat. from 6 pm, dinner buffet and DJ Peter, 49 euro per person, Sept. 25, Sun. from 12 noon, with live music, free admission. Oct. 1, Sat. from 6 p.m. with DJ Eisbär, admission 9 euros. 3 Bonner Wiesnfest

The Telekom Dome will become one big beer tent on Nov. 5 with music from star guests from Mallorca, and a big party mood. Tickets 17.10 euros in advance sales at GA ticket offices or online. Address: Basketsring 1, Bonn.

4 1st Cologne Oktoberfest

The beer tent at Cologne Südstation is open until Oct. 2 and offers Bayern specialties and a Cologne-Bayern program. Admission 28.50 euros. Address: Vorplatz Südstadium, Vorgebirgstraße, Cologne.

5 “Kölsche Wiesen” - Extravaganza

On the site of the XPost at Gladbacher Wall, there will be a Cologne-flavored set-up until Oct. 2, Sun.. Event managers Markus Krampe and soccer star Lukas Podolski are part of the organizing team. Visitors can hear “Kölsche” music from Cat Ballou and Kasalla. Admission 28.50 euros. Address: grounds of the XPost, Gladbacher Wall 5, Cologne.

6 Hangelarer Oktoberfest

The church parish celebrates on Sept. 24 from 7 p.m. Music, “Weißwürscht” sausages, and more specialities. Admission is free. Address: Catholic church St. Anna, Graf-Zeppelin-Straße 9, Sankt Augustin.

7 Heideparty Oktoberfest

The events hall at Meiersheide will be transformed into a Bayern beer tent on Oct. 1, Sat. from 6 p.m. Party band “Hüttenpower” and DJ Wolfgang Meyer are there for the good mood. Tickets 12 euro. Address: Meiersheide 20, Hennef.
