Bonn recreation Outdoor swimming pool season begins on May 18

Bonn · With optimism that warmer weather is coming soon, the outdoor swimming pool season will open in Bonn in just over a week. Some indoor pools close, while the outdoor pools remain open until September.

On Saturday, May 18, the outdoor swimming pool season opens in Bonn. The first pool to open will be Hardtbergbad (Hardtberg pool). On Thursday, May 30 (Ascension Day), the outdoors pools Melbad, Römerbad, Ennertbad, Friesi and Panoramabad in Rüngsdorf will also open. The outdoor pool season runs until Sunday, September 1. They will be open from Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Frankenbad and Beueler Bütt indoor pools will close on May 29, but the Hardtbergbad indoor pool will remain open to schools and clubs until the summer holidays. If the weather continues to be nice in September, the Hardtbergbad could also extend the outdoor swimming pool season. For the opening of the new splash pool in the Römerbad on Ascension Day, the city is planning a children's festival from 1 pm to 5 pm. At 11:30 a.m. Lord Mayor Ashok Sridharan will officially open the new pool. Admission for children under the age of seven is free.

The City of Bonn is looking for temporary staff to supervise the pools and run the cash registers. Details about those jobs as well as admission prices and season passes can be found on www.bonn.de or by calling 02 28/77 32 34.
