Bonn · A man suffered serious head injuries in an accident involving a tram on Tuesday morning. Tram traffic was interrupted for an hour.
Eye witnesses said the 33-year-old man was standing on the platform and intended to cross Bertha-Von-Suttner-Platz towards the taxi rank when the traffic light was red.
He then stepped onto the tracks and was hit by a tram. According to police, the 33-year-old did not go under the tram but received serious head injuries in the collision.
He is currently being treated in hospital. He is not critically injured. The tram driver suffered from shock and was looked after by a member of the clergy. Tram traffic towards Beuel was halted for about an hour. (Original text: ga.de)
