The Lord Mayors of the independent cities and the county councils at the level of the Cologne administrative district had agreed to go beyond the current state decree which allows restaurants to open from 6 am to 15 pm.

Restaurants, cafés and pubs in Bonn will thus remain closed, and local consumption in bakeries will be prohibited. Exceptions are "out-of-home sales": For example, you can go to the restaurant and then take your food home with you, announced Bonn's Lord Mayor Ashok Sridharan (CDU) in a Facebook video. Delivery service offers and drive-in counters are also excluded from the ban.

According to information from the city council on Wednesday evening, there have been 76 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bonn now.
