The second expert opinion on the Bad Godesberg Stadthalle does not come to a different conclusion either: the deficiency caused by corrosion damage to the reinforcing steel represents "a currently existing and temporarily growing considerable impairment of stability which is not tolerable". As the administration announced on Tuesday, a sudden collapse of the supporting structure can therefore not be ruled out even by the second expert. "This result confirms that the security and cordoning off measures immediately initiated by the administration were justified", writes the press office.

"The evaluation of the existing damage and the consequences resulting from it was carried out by a second expert in order to have a sound basis for further considerations and planning due to the scope of the first results", says the head of the municipal building management, Lutz Leide. And Lord Mayor Ashok Sridharan assures: "We will do everything in our power to be able to make proposals soon after the summer break as to how to proceed with the Stadthalle“.
