"It's about the curtailment of fundamental rights and liberties because of corona, it's about isolation, the distancing from our fellow humans." This is how Dennis Meseg, a student at the Alanus University of Arts and Sciences in Alfter, describes his art installation, which carries the theme: "It is like it is”. The spontaneous art installation is currently showing on Münsterplatz in the city center of Bonn. The "Corona Memorial" comprises a total of 111 mannequins wrapped in red and white barrier tape.

He had the idea a week ago and since then he has been wrapping the numerous mannequins together with some "diligent helpers". Where does one find so many mannequins in such a short time? They came to him "from all directions”. What really helped him was that a large carnival supply store situated nearby, had closed down.

The next locations for the installation will be Berlin, Cologne and Düsseldorf in the coming days.
