Construction sites during holiday times Südbrücke in Bonn to be closed to trains

Bonn · The municipal utilities are renewing the tracks. Passengers on lines 66, 16 and 63 have to change to buses. Motorists are also affected by closures on the B9.

Stadtwerke Bus und Bahn (SWB) is announcing track construction work on the B9 and Südbrücke bridges as of this Friday. Trains on lines 66 and 68, 16 and 63 will not run on certain sections, passengers will instead be taken across the bridge in buses. According to SWB spokesman Michael Henseler, customers should plan more time for the changeovers. Drivers are also affected by the work.

In detail, the following construction work is planned:This Friday from 3.30 a.m. until next Sunday, the SWB will renew the tracks between the stops "Olof-Palme-Allee" and "Ramersdorf". During this time there will be special buses between the two stops. Line 66 from Bad Honnef runs on the right bank of the Rhine via Ramersdorf and Beueler Bahnhof over the Kennedy bridge to the main station and back to Bad Honnef. The 66 coming from Siegburg only goes to Bonn main station and from there back to Siegburg.

Passengers can therefore change at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz in Beuel if they want to go to Bad Honnef (departure a few meters from the tram stop). At the main station, commuters can change to lines 16 and 63 in the direction of the former government quarter. Line 68 runs between Bornheim and Bad Godesberg Stadthalle (otherwise it runs via Robert-Schuman-Platz to Ramersdorf).

OnSaturday and Sunday nights, the replacement buses run from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. between the main station and Ramersdorf stops, which are close to the city railway stops. The night bus lines N7 and N10 stop at the stops Olof-Palme-Allee, Ollenhauerstraße, Heussallee, Museum Koenig, Auswärtiges Amt, Juridicum and Universität/Markt. With the start of operations at 3.30 a.m. on Monday, lines 66 and 68 will be back on the road as usual. The travel times are published on the homepage www.swb-busundbahn.de.

SWB also announced that Godesberger Allee between Heinemannstraße and the 562 motorway junction towards the city centre will be completely closed to through traffic during the period mentioned. The night bus lines N7 and N10 therefore depart from the stop Max-Löbner-Straße via Heinemannstraße, Ludwig-Erhard-Allee to the alternative stop Olof-Palme-Allee on Godesberger Allee at the entrance to Deutsche Post DHL. The closure also affects car traffic. As the press office explained on request, a detour will be set up. "According to our information, the construction site will also be continued after 5 August, with the result that from 5 to 14 August traffic in both directions can only be guided in one lane," the city said.

Starting next week, SWB staff will be working on the tracks between the Max-Löbner-Straße and Hochkreuz/Deutsches Museum stops. From Monday, 5 August to Wednesday, 14 August inclusive, line 16 from Cologne will only run to the Heussallee stop and back. Line 63 from Tannenbusch only runs to Olof-Palme-Allee. Between Heussallee and Hochkreuz, SWB is setting up a replacement train service with buses for line 16, and between Olof-Palme-Allee and Hochkreuz, a replacement train service for line 63.
