Not only major events such as Bundesliga games are cancelled due to the corona virus, but also smaller events. We have compiled an overview of which events will not take place in Bonn and the region.

Because of the corona virus, Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn has recommended to cancel major events with more than 1000 participants. If an event is cancelled, the organiser usually has to refund the ticket price. Also in Bonn and in the region first measures have already been taken as a precaution. An overview.

Bonn

  • The "Gedankensprünge" of the Catholic Education Network on 10 and 17 March are cancelled.
  • The Bonn Opera will (as of Tuesday) not cancel any events, including the "Fledermaus", which is on the programme on Wednesday 11 March. Although the house at Boeselagerhof has 1024 seats, care will be taken to keep the number of visitors below 1000, according to General Director Bernhard Helmich. This is not a problem, as there are currently more cancellations than usual anyway. "However, we are not charging any exchange fees at the moment if someone wants to exchange their ticket," said Helmich.
  • The Cyber Security Cluster Bonn is cancelling the Cyber Security Tech Summit Europe, which was to take place on 11 March at the WCCB.
  • The Bonn district group of the police union is cancelling its extraordinary general meeting on 12 March.
  • The concert of the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica e Coro Sinfonico di Milano Giuseppe Verdi in the Kreuzkirche Bonn, planned for March 14th in the context of the Beethovenfest, will not take place.
  • The performance "Der kleine Rabe Socke" on 16 March at the Junges Theater Bonn will be cancelled.
  • The extra-occupational training at the FOM University in Beuel will be suspended until 21 March.
  • At the Bonn International School (BIS) classes will be held online until 23 March.
  • The national sports festival of the Queen Juliana School in Frankenbad on 25 March has been cancelled.
  • The Haus und Grund association announced that the "Haus & Grund Day" planned for 28 March, including the general meeting, has been postponed until autumn.
  • The SDG Global Festival of Action, which was to take place at the WCCB from April 1 to 3, has been postponed.

Rhein-Sieg district

  • The Bonn/Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has cancelled its public events until the Easter holidays. This does not affect teaching and examination activities.
  • In Siegburg, the city cleaning day on 14 March was cancelled.
  • In order to protect the residents of the Protestant Centre for the Elderly Haus m Römerkanal from infection by the corona virus, the Rheinbach Reads Association has cancelled its book flea market on Saturday, 14 March. The next event of this kind will take place in October.
  • The senior citizens' residence Curanum in Hennef has cancelled all events until 15 March. This concerns a spring concert and a vernissage.
  • This year's Newroz Festival of the Kurdish Community Rhein-Sieg/Bonn, which was supposed to take place on March 20th in the Bürgerhaus Spich-Troisdorf, is cancelled.
  • The Siegburger Suppen-Sause, which was planned for 22 March, will not take place.
  • In the Siegburger city hall all committee meetings up to the council meeting on 26 March are postponed.
  • The three laureate concerts of "Jugend musiziert" in Sankt Augustin, Siegburg and Rheinbach will not take place.
  • The concert of the WDR Symphony Orchestra in the series "Dachshund meets Beethoven" at the Nikolaus-Grundschule in Bornheim-Waldorf has been cancelled.
  • In the old people's centre at the Römerkanal in Rheinbach, no discussion cafés may take place until further notice.

Siebengebirge

  • The lecture, to which the Bonn Rose Friends have been invited to Haus Schlesien on March 14, will not take place.
  • The honorary day on 14 March in Königswinter has been cancelled.
  • The Gymnasium am Oelberg has cancelled the anniversary party on the occasion of its 50th anniversary on 21 March.
  • The Königswinter city sports federation announced that the honouring of sportsmen/women on April 23 will not take place. It will be made up for on September 3.
  • The music school of the city of Königswinter has cancelled two ballet performances in Oberpleis.

Vorgebirge

  • The lecture "Flight and Trauma" on 11 March in Wachtberg will not take place.
  • The benefit concert of the German Armed Forces Training Music Corps, which was to have taken place on March 13 in the Jungholzhalle Meckenheim, has been cancelled.
  • The Women's Health Day on 14 March in Rheinbach has been cancelled.
  • The construction fair planned for 14 and 15 March in Rheinbach will not take place.

  • The Oberbachem amateur play circle has cancelled all performances planned for this year.

District of Ahrweiler

  • The cabaret artist Jürgen Becker will not perform in Adenau on 21 March.
  • The reading with Titus Müller on 25 March in the bookstore at the market in Hennef has been postponed until 25 November. The tickets remain valid or can be returned at the bookstore.
  • The inauguration ceremony for the new cafeteria in the Sinziger Schulzentrum was cancelled.

Cologne

  • The international trade fair for handicrafts and hobbies is not taking place.
  • The literature fair lit.Cologne was completely cancelled.
  • The Lanxess-Arena in Cologne has cancelled all events for the time being.
