Wine festival in Ahrweiler

At the beginning of last week, harvest helpers set off for the Ahrweiler Rosenthal vineyard to bring in the white grapes from 1500 square metres. In time for the annual Ahrweiler Winzerfest about 2000 bottles of the Ahrtaler Federweisser are available, which can be purchased there from Friday evening. In the course of the opening also the new wine queen of Ahrweiler is announced. In addition to musical entertainment, the Winzerfestzug will take place on Sunday afternoon from 3 pm. The conclusion of the Winzerfest is to be celebrated with fireworks.

Röhndorf Wine and Vineyard Festival

Not only in Ahrweiler is there a large selection of wine: Also the people in the small district of Bahn Honnef, Röhndorf, remain true to their tradition and invite you to a wine festival on weekends. Visitors can enjoy regional wines from the Drachenfels at the snack stand. The organizers of the Winzercorps Rhöndorf are once again putting together a varied program this year. Every evening of the weekend, music groups play on the Ziepechsplatz. On Sunday evening, the wine queens of the Middle Rhine meet for a toast. Journey through the World Heritage Site

From Mossul to Palmyra: From Friday, the exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn will take visitors on a virtual journey through the World Heritage Site. Mossul, Aleppo, Leptis Magna and Palmyra: these cities were destroyed by fanaticism and wars. Thanks to virtual constructions, these once impressive locations can be visited again in the Bundeskunsthalle. The exhibition runs until 3 November 2019.

The Beuel Citizens' Festival

"Music, love and respect" is the motto of this year's Beueler Bürgerfest. For the 32nd time, the city centre of Beuel is transformed into a festival mile of a special kind. On Saturday and Sunday there will be over a hundred exhibitors and a music programme on six stages. There will also be 250 tombola prizes to win. This year's two-day festival is also a tribute to the Woodstock Festival and aims to commemorate the love message of 50 years ago. In the course of the festival, some changes will be made to the bus and tram services.

Flashlight concert at Poppelsdorf Castle

It's a shame that it's getting dark much earlier, but it also creates the backdrop for a special Bonn tradition: the torch concert in front of Poppelsdorf Castle, which attracts families with children year after year. For many of the young visitors, it is even their first concert - in the dark and on an open-air stage! The band Rumpelstil plays music for the whole family. Before that there will be children's make-up, a climbing tower, a wheel of fortune and a balloon competition. The Bunte Kreis Rheinland has been organising these concerts for eleven years and uses the proceeds to support the families of chronically ill children.

Stadtgarten concerts on Saturday

Three performances are planned for Saturday at the Stadtgarten concerts: At 6 p.m. Dad's Phonkey turns from a solo a cappella artist into whole bands and orchestras, from 7 p.m. modern jazz rock by Jin Jim will be heard at the Alter Zoll, and from 8.30 p.m. with Markus Schinkel Voyager IV progressive rock with classical elements can be heard.

Concert in the Melbbad

At the end of the open-air swimming pool season, the "Unser Melbbad" association will organise a concert at Bonn's popular open-air swimming pool on Sunday. The Melbbad in Poppelsdorf will be the stage for the band of the Bonn musician Christian Meringolo from 5 pm on. Visitors pay the normal admission fee.

12Family celebration in Poppelsdorf

The 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Children’s rights is a reason to celebrate: on Sunday, the family celebration at Poppelsdorf Castle is a reminder of children's rights. Music, acrobats and clowns are on the programme for the children. The association Bunter Kreis Rheinland presents a photo campaign on the subject of "Children have rights" and Radio Bonn/Rhein-Sieg fashion designer Jana Büllesbach leads through the day.

13Pützchen's Market - Guided City Tour

From 6 to 10 September, the largest fair in Bonn will take place for the 652nd time. Already one weekend before the event a city guided tour through the streets of Pützchen and the fairground area takes place, giving the background knowledge about the district Pützchen. On Sunday afternoon, the participants of this group will have the opportunity to visit Pützchen's market before hundreds of thousands of visitors storm the grounds.
