Public transportation Train delays and cancellations due to expansion work

BONN/REGION · Work being completed on Line S13 will also have repercussions for other trains in the public transport system. Deutsche Bahn has announced some temporary changes for the week of January 23 - 29.

Due to work being carried out on cable runs for the expansion of Line S13 between Troisdorf and Oberkassel, there will be some delays and cancellations of trains in the coming weeks.

Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) has announced that only one track will be open between Troisdorf and Beuel from Monday, January 23 through Sunday, January 29. This will affect trains in both directions of Lines RB 27, RB 30 and RE 8 as well as the National Express operated RB 48.

  • RB 27: Riding time from Troisdorf to Koblenz will be about ten minutes longer.
  • RB 30: Between Bonn Hauptbahnhof (Bonn’s central train station) and Remagen, there will be some trains cancelled in both directions between January 23 and 27.
  • R8: From January 23 to 29, there will be no trains between Beuel and Troisdorf in either direction. An alternate route is the parallel one: Line RB 27 between Mönchengladbach and Koblenz. During the busy morning commuter time, there will be extra buses used to shuttle passengers between Beuel and Troisdorf in both directions.
  • RB 48: Information about changes on this route are available at: www.nationalexpress.de

Deutsche Bahn says it will try to keep noise levels as minimal as possible and asks residents and passengers for their understanding due to the inconvenience.
