First results of the joint coronavirus study "KiRaSu" conducted by the city of Bonn and the University Hospital Bonn in two selected kindergartens are available. Last week, employees and children were tested in the day-care center at the university hospital and in the day-care center at the stadium in Beuel. A total of 89 children were tested; 57 in the day-care centre of the university hospital, 32 in the day-care centre at the stadium. A throat swab was taken from the children and examined. In none of the 89 children could the corona virus be detected.

No corona virus was detected in the 36 employees of the two facilities either, but the city council informs that one employee of the day-care center at the stadium is still waiting for the results. The kindergarten teachers and children are to be tested this month and next.

The study "KiRaSu" stands for: Surveillance and risk assessment in day-care centres. The results are to be used to develop hygiene concepts in order to enable the operation of day-care centres in a way that is hygienically and medically acceptable for children and teachers.
