BONN/REGION · The German-British collective Gob Squad shows their Bonn performance film this weekend while an Irish pub hosts a carnival sing-a-long. Music and laughter are also on deck this weekend, have a good one!

Carnival Singing with Mathias Nelles

All the jecken (carnival enthusiasts) can get in the mood for the upcoming carnival days on Saturday evening in the Dubliner pub, when the Irish pub’s carnival singing evening takes place for the fourth time. Together with Mathias Nelles, guests join in and sing the best new songs of the carnival season as well as some Cologne classics. Tickets cost 5 euros in advance or at the door.

Live film performance of tour through the city center

As part of the live Arts series, the Bundeskunsthalle presents the energetic German-British artist collective Gob Squad with its live film performance through Bonn's city center. On their tour, the four actors turn the city into a film set and try to transform the banality of everyday life into the glitz and glamor of a Hollywood film. The resulting film material will then be shown in the Bundeskunsthalle this coming Saturday. Tickets are 19 euros, with some qualifying for a reduced rate of 13 euros, available at bonnticket.de

Laughter yoga in cult 41

In German, this is called “Lachyoga” but in any language, they say laughter is the best medicine. If you just want to laugh for no reason in particular, you can do so on Sunday at Kult 41. The Kulturcafé offers laughter yoga, which provides for relaxation and enjoyment but also a childlike playfulness. It cots four euros to participate, no advance sign-up necessary.

A Tribute to Genesis

The Path of Genesis: This tribute to the legendary British band Genesis takes place on Friday night at the Harmonie in Bonn. The focus will be on songs from the early years like “Trespass”, “Foxtrot”, “Selling England by the Pound”, “The Lamb lies down on Broadway”, “A Trick of the Tail”, and “Wind & Wuthering.” Tickets in advance cost 24.40 euros at bonnticket.de

Folk, blues, and Texas swing

The trio named “DreckPäck” comes from the Ruhr area and Rhineland and bring with them a mix of folk, blues, Texas swing and bluegrass music. With the distinctive bluesy voice of Gabriele R. Weber, they play songs of the 60’s and 70’s and give life to country blues and bluegrass songs that have long been forgotten. The trademark of the trio is the harmony of their voices and their skillful playing of instruments typical of this music genre; mandolin, guitar, banjo and double bass. Tickets cost 11 euros in advance (13 euros at the door) and are available at bonnticket.de.

"Impulse" at the GOP Variete Theater

Beats, Dance & Bodyart: The current show at GOP Variete Theater is "Impulse." Experience the dynamic, powerful encounter of rhythm, body art and dance!

Drachenburg Castle Lights

Catch one of the last weekends of Drachenburg Castle illuminated in dazzling colors. In the park, several fairytale houses will be installed, around three meters high - drawing from the fairytale "The Three Little Pigs". In addition, visitors will be able to stroll through an approximately 60-meter-long "Walk of Light". And inside the castle, the shelf of a large Swedish furniture company unfolds an unexpected visual effect through video projections. There is also a dragon’s cave and reptile zoo. Miss Saigon musical in Cologne

The hugely successful musical production “Miss Saigon” will be playing in at the Cologne Musical Dome until March 3. A highly emotional love story that takes place during the Vietnam War, it is well-known for the scene when the last helicopter leaves from the roof of the American Embassy. "Miss Saigon" is one of the most successful musicals ever. Since its premiere in London on September 20, 1989 and its Broadway premiere in April of 1991, the musical has been shown in more than 369 cities in 32 countries and attracted around 36 million viewers. Miss Saigon has been performed in 15 languages and has won 70 awards, including two Laurence Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.
