Bonn/Region Given the time of year, it's clear of course what's going on this weekend - but there are still some events outside the carnival. We are listing what's going on in Bonn and the region this weekend…
Folk Club Bonn turns 100 on March 1, 2019
As everybody knows, Folk Club Bonn is normally a structured evening but in celebration of their "century" they are throwing the doors open to everybody to come along at 6pm and perform for three minutes, on a "first come, first served" basis, which is common in many English folk clubs. They will have two stages so there will be a seamless programme of songs, instrumentals, poems, short plays and comedy throughout the evening.
Carnival parties and processions in Bonn and the region
Especially in the Rhineland, the abundance of parties in the carnival season can become confusing. If you don't want to go aimlessly, but want to party with a plan, you'll find tips for parties in pubs and an overview of all parades online. More information about the carnival program and all pictures of the parades can be found at www.kamelle.de.
Willi Ostermann songs in Drehwerk 17/19
Although the 80th anniversary of Willi Ostermann's death was more than two years ago, Josef Muhr deliberately decided against an anniversary date. His interpretation of Willi Ostermann's "Barden der rheinischen Frohnatur" song is both lively and thoughtful, but the "Milljöh" sketches in particular paint a picture of the little people of that time. Jupp Muhr is accompanied on the piano by Leonard Hüster, theyhave become a well-rehearsed team.
