June 8 - 10 : What’s happening in Bonn and the region?

Sure to be a highlight this weekend is the 10th Bonn Hot Air Balloon Fest at the Rheinaue Park. But the annual pottery market in Bonn city center and the summer art market in Bad Godesberg will also be well visited, and the SWB triathlon will no doubt get the blood pumping!

Friday, June 8

BONN

10th Bonn Balloon Festival: Opening of the festival with a mass start of the participating hot air balloons, a colorful spectacle to see (weather dependent), Rheinaue, Ludwig-Erhard-Allee, 7pm

Fun fair in Lannesdorf: Opens at 5pm on Friday with rides and a DJ playing music from 7pm. On Saturday, it opens at 2pm and in the evening there is live music. On Sunday there is a mass at 10am, a concert at 11:30am and a tambourine corps at 3pm. For lunch, sauerbraten will be on the menu and coffee and cake will be offered in the afternoon in the tent. It is also open Monday from 2pm.

The Night Watchman: Travel with the night watchman through Bonn. A walk through the darker, wilder sides of the city. These were dangerous times and the tasks which faced the night watchman meant that it was certainly not an easy job. Apart from dealing with the normal rabble and riff-raff in and around the city, the electoral capital of Bonn was threatened in the 17th century by war, fire and pestilence with the bubonic plague (tour in English) Friday, June 8, 9 - 11pm approx., €10-12, Please register in advance (0228) 654553, meeting point at Rheingasse on the corner of Brassertufer
