The Redoute was built for partying
The place where former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and President Bush Senior met, Ludwig van Beethoven made music and Queen Elizabeth II made a guest appearance is still the perfect place to have an elegant party. The Redoute in Bad Godesberg was even built especially for celebrating. It was commissioned by the then Elector Max Franz and planned by the Poppelsdorf-born architect Martin Leydel. Together, their hired workers built the festive venue for balls, concerts and parties between 1790 and 1792. The organisers offer a total of two halls and four salons, which can be rented by the day. The Beethoven Hall is the main hall and can accommodate up to 400 people at receptions or 200 people dining. This hall has a marble floor and its own terrace with a view of the park.
Drachenfels with panorama meeting room
The legend-filled Drachenfels is enthroned high above the Rhine near Königswinter. The panoramic view from the 321-metre-high rock stretches all the way to the Eifel. This panorama is perfect for parties in the restaurant on the plateau or in the glass cube, which opened in 2013. Drachenfels Gaststätten GmbH offers both venues for booking together or separately. In 2018 and 2019, even Dieter Bohlen was drawn to the mountain. RTL filmed "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (Germany's next superstar) here. Visitors have been celebrating up here for much longer. There has been catering on the hill since 1834. The Drachenfels cable car makes it easy to get up to the peak. If you want to celebrate with a panoramic view, the Drachenfels is the place to be.
Steigenberger Hotel on the Petersberg
Also located on a Siebengebirge hill is the Grandhotel Steigenberger. This noble hotel offers rooms for functions with up to 500 people. A festive ballroom or the rotunda are available as venues. For smaller groups, lounges can also be rented for ten to 20 people. According to the operators, several conference rooms offer access to the terraces with a view of the Rhine. The hotel provides a catering service for events, which can range from a small snack to a five-course menu.
Bungertshof built in 1444
The Bungertshof in Oberdollendorf is an exquisite venue. Here, visitors celebrate in an old courtyard that was first mentioned in a document in 1444. The half-timbered house with garden has room for up to 450 people. The Bungertssaal including wine tavern offers space for up to 200 guests. The venue is available for weddings, birthdays and corporate events of all kinds. In addition, there’s an extensive wine list. So if you want to serve your guests special wines from the bottle, this is the perfect place to celebrate in the Bonn area.
Ordenssaal in Bonn (Religious Order Chamber)
The Ordenssaal on Kaiser-Karl-Ring is a stately venue for festivities in Bonn. Weddings, corporate parties, big birthdays and other special occasions can be celebrated here in an exclusive setting. Wooden parquet flooring, high ceilings and curved window frames give the Ordenssaal am Kaiser-Karl-Ring a majestic appearance. Up to 130 guests can be seated at tables; for an event without tables, the room can hold 200 people, according to the organisers.
Lede Castle
Knights no longer dine here, but they have left their mark. Lede Castle near Bonn-Villich is a former moated castle that can now also be booked for relatively small weddings. A civil wedding ceremony with a reception is possible on site, but partying in the evening is not. On request, corporate events can also be held on-site. The listed castle itself is privately owned.
Konrad's Bonn on the 17th floor
The restaurant at Konrad's is high up in the sky. The team led by chef Felix Kaspar cooks on the seventeenth floor of the Marriott Hotel on United Nations Square. A bar with a view and a terrace complete the location. If you are planning a celebration, you can book two different rooms or the entire restaurant here. The so-called private dining rooms offer space for between 24 and 50 people.
The Stella Rheni Summer Residence
This villa in Bad Godesberg, built as a summer residence, is a listed building and is just as suitable for magnificent celebrations and events as it is for birthdays or corporate functions. Weddings can be celebrated with up to 150 guests. In the more than 200 square metre domed hall of the Villa Stella Rheni, up to 400 people can gather standing. All events can be catered for until 5 a.m. without any restrictions, according to the organisers.
Ships on the Rhine
If you would like to make your event mobile, you can charter a ship in Bonn. The "Moby Dick", the "MS Beethoven" or other ships operated by Bonner Personen Schifffahrt offer private charter trips. All operators organise birthday, company or even wedding parties on the Rhine and also offer catering including drinks. For private charter trips, stopovers and the route can also be specified. The "Moby Dick" has room for 50 to 200 people. The "MS Beethoven" accommodates 250 guests on two decks.
