Cyclists were the focus of a large-scale police inspection in the city center of Bonn on Wednesday morning. According to Simon Rott from the press office of the Bonn Police, the officers checked the cyclists at the corner of Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz/Belderberg and at the bus station at Bonn's central train station.

The police levied 22 warnings "for various traffic violations" and conducted 58 informative conversations with cyclists or passers-by. Eight people received a special check by the police. According to Rott, this happens, for example, when someone cannot provide identification or is already known to the police. A motorist who wanted to turn off illegally into Friedrichstraße was also stopped by police.

The police were on the scene with four squad cars. The so-called " focal point checks" are to be carried out at regular intervals.
