The citizen’s report on the future of Bonn's swimming pools will be handed over on Thursday, 21 November, at a public meeting starting at 6 p.m. in the Brückenforum in Beuel, Friedrich-Breuer-Straße 17, Bonn’s Lord Mayor Ashok Sridharan.

The report is intended to serve as a basis for further consultations on the future of the Bonn bathing concept. The background for this is that since the city council has not yet been able to reach an agreement on the question of swimming pools, Bonn residents should take the reins themselves and following two referendums (one against the new construction of the Wasserlandbad, the other against the renovation of the Bad Godesberg Kurfürstenbad), should develop ideas and proposals for the Bonn bathing landscape.

In September 2018, the Council tasked the administration to make a proposal for broad-based citizen participation on the subject of swimming pools. Under the leadership of the Society of Citizen Panels (gfb) and the Institute for Democracy and Participation Research (IDPF), 92 Bonn citizens who had been randomly selected from the register of residents, participated for several months in the preparation of this swimming pool report.
