Bonn · The weekend has a lot to offer in rather mediocre weather. Whether it's dinosaurs in the Koenig Museum, some eighties flashbacks with ABBA and Depeche Mode or the resumption of "Figaro's Wedding" in the opera - we have some tips for you in the coming days.

Kitchen party at the Ameron Hotel Königshof

The restaurant in the Hotel Königshof will be closed exclusively for this kitchen party. The participants of this, not exactly inexpensive, event may have a "very close experience the Italian joie de vivre". Culinary delicacies from the Italian kitchen together with wine and music are offered.

KAWUMM at the GOP Varieté-Theater

The story of Mr. Mutzmann has been presented more than 430 times in other GOP houses. Since September the play by Markus Pabst can also be seen in Bonn. KAWUMM takes the visitors into the life of Mr. Mutzmann, a civil servant who was lost in everyday life. Only with the help of his imagination does he transform the rut into a heroic story.

"A Tribute to ABBA" in the Harmonie

If you feel like a "Dancing Queen" or are looking for a "Man After Midnight", the "ABBA Review" is the right place for you. Some of the most catchy songs of the Swedish quartet are presented on Friday in the Endenicher Harmonie.

Commemoration ceremony for war dead of the bombing raid

2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the devastating bombing raid, which also hit large parts of Bonn. More precisely: on 18 October. Just in time for the anniversary, the city of Bonn together with the mayor of Limbach, Curt Delander, and the CDU city councillor, David Lutz, commemorate the event in the courtyard of the Frauenmuseum.

Family Malentes 80's Party

From Wednesday to Sunday the Theaterpalast returns to the 80s under the motto "99 balloons". You can expect the hits of the 80s as well as shrill costumes and hairstyles.

Youtuber and other newcomers at Nyx

"Mixed Multimedia" is a series of events in which talented artists of all kinds perform. It will be moderated by Gelsenkirchen's Youtuber Florian Deimer, who above all wants to provide a stage for other artists of the platform - in the truest sense of the word. At "Mixed Multimedia" they can present their video ideas on stage.

"Tribute to Depeche Mode" in the Harmonie

Remode are one of the most authentic cover bands of Depeche Mode and tour all over Germany. On Saturday they also make a stopover in Bonn-Endenich and gather fans to dance in harmony.

"Christmas Eve" at the Kleine Theater

A "not so contemplative Christmas play", which Daniel Kehlmann says is "Christmas Eve", may come at just the right time in October. The exciting interrogation thriller will be performed at the Little Theatre in Bad Godesberg until the end of the month.

Dinosaurs in the Koenig Museum

Among the highlights of the exhibits are three original skeletons of dinosaurs, the oldest 210 million years old, with bones that have reached a length of up to 40 meters. An absolutely unique specimen in the exhibition is the skeleton of a sauropod baby, almost two metres long. In addition to information boards on the history of dinosaurs, the exhibition also features videos that make it possible to look over the shoulders of scientists at the University of Bonn as they carry out their research.

Last flea market in the Rheinaue

As on every third Saturday of the month, the flea market in the Rheinaue takes place again in October. What is special about this Saturday is that it will be the last event of its kind this year. Between October and March the flea market disappears for the winter break.

"Very British" in the Haus der Geschichte

The exhibition "Very British", which starts with the Brexit and then works chronologically and thematically from a German perspective through years and decades, along stereotypes and irritations, past great emotional moments that repeatedly touched us Germans deeply (Royals) or excited us (Football), hits the nerve of our time. At least that's what GA editor Thomas Kliemann said, who dedicated the exhibition at the opening - it's still very much up to date.

Autumn art market at the Redoute

As part of the joint exhibition "Retrospektive" by Claus Riemann and "Fotografische Streiflichter" by Bettina Secker, Clotilde Lafont-König, chairwoman of the Gedok association, is organizing the third autumn art market at the Haus an der Redoute. The art market is attended by 14 artists. The exhibition by Secker and Riemann can be seen in the Haus an der Redoute until 3 November 2019.

Shanty Choir at Rudolfplatz in Cologne

The Erste Kölner Shantychor lets you experience a musical journey in this concert. With its shanties, which set the working rhythm for the sailors on the high seas, and showcase the seasons, which tell of homesickness and wanderlust, the choir has been inspiring the audience again and again for over 30 years.

Figaro's Wedding at the Bonn Opera House

The Mozart classic will resume at the opera next Sunday. "Le nozze di figaro", as the piece is originally called is in four acts, and is the third work of Mozart's collaboration with his most important librettist Lorenzo da Ponte. Now the new production will be back on the programme until December.

Ken Walsh, Commercial Consul of the U.S. Consulate General in Düsseldorf is coming to Bonn on October 29 as keynote speaker on the topic: „Let’s Talk Business“ - “How strong is the U.S.-German Business Relationship?“ Ken Walsh is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Diplomatic Corps and received his confirmation by the U.S. Senate and attestation by the President in April 2014. He assumed his current duties as Commercial Consul and Principal Commercial Officer in Dusseldorf, Germany on July 17, 2015. In this role he is responsible for promoting U.S commercial interests in Western Germany and encouraging investment by German firms in the U.S. market.Prior to his current role, Ken served as Commercial Attaché in Moscow from 2011 to 2014. His portfolio of responsibilities included the vital Russian oil and gas and agricultural machinery sectors. While in Russia, Ken coordinated trade missions, executive visits, as well an industrial standards event in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. He was awarded with the U.S. Department of State’s Franklin and Meritorious Honor Awards for his work to promote trade.
