Freaks - uncannily beautiful

After the great success of "Grand Hotel" the GOP Varieté-Theater Bonn is bringing a new show on stage. "Freaks" plays beyond the known and common norm and shows the audience the attraction of bizarre and strange surprises. The bearded lady, the spider woman and the Norsemen coin the term "Freak" anew - the speciality becomes a sensation. Elyas Khan inspires as Freakmaster not only with his powerful voice. He is also the musical director and Detlef Winterberg is the director.

Lukas Wandke stands on the Rheinbühne

There are many names for what Lukas Wandke does on stage: cabaret, moderation, stand-up comedy. He became known through appearances on RTL and 1 Live, and also performed in the Cologne comedy laundry "Night Wash". He is currently touring all over Germany with his first live program on stages and is visiting the Rheinbühne, which was newly opened last year. In "The L stands for..." Wandke takes the quirks of his generation for a ride - from performance pressure to WhatsApp emojis.

Johannes Oerding in Cologne

Sometimes rocky, sometimes quiet - that's how the music of Johannes Oerding can be described. The man from Munich is on the way to an almost flawless career. His albums have already been refined with gold and platinum, songs like "Kreise" and "Alles Brennt" became hits and Oerding fills bigger halls with every concert. However, the 38-year-old achieved his greatest success with his headwear: last November he received the award "Hat Wearer of the Year 2019". He is currently on tour with his sixth studio album "Konturen".

Wine and Taste Festival

For wine lovers there is a special festival on the weekend. At the Wine and Taste Festival you can taste around 200 wines from 30 wineries. The new favourite wine can be ordered on the spot for home. There is also lounge music, food from the Street Food Truck and wine seminars.

Sticky Fingers in Harmony

The five-piece group from Bonn is one of the first German tribute bands and has been dedicated to the rock legends The Rolling Stones since the late 70s. With front man Günther Grothaus as Mick Jagger and guitarist Volker Hovstadt as Keith Richards, the Sticky Fingers convince with a rock show that reminds us of the 60s and 70s of the Stones in a sensitive and authentic way. On Friday evening you can nod your head in harmony with "Paint it Black" and "Gimme Shellter" until your neck hurts the next morning.

Thriller - Live

Already in the 60s he celebrated first successes with the soul band Jackson 5. In the following years Michael Jackson finally became a pop icon and created with "Thriller" the worldwide best selling album of all times. Ten years after his death, London's West End is once again bringing the hits of the "King of Pop" to the international stages and is also making a stop in the region. With "Thriller", "Beat It", "Bad" and of course Jackson's unmistakable dance style, an ensemble of several singers and dancers recalls the more than 40 years of his career. "Thriller - Live" is one of the most successful shows in London's West End and has already attracted 4 million viewers in more than 30 countries.

Night flea market Fabrik45

Shopping is also possible at late hours. Once again the night flea market takes place in Fabrik45 at the Viktoriabrücke. With a nice atmosphere, music and cold drinks you can browse the stands for bargains. Admission for visitors is free, but those who want to sell their own clothes and used items must register a stand for 3.33 euros per square metre.

Key Of Woodstock in the Harmonie

Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and The Eagles - These names shaped a generation of music about life, love, hippie culture and the anti-war movement. In acoustic instrumentation, the group Taste of Woodstock plays the important music of the 60s and 70s. Even 50 years after the festival, the tribute band still creates an atmosphere that revives „Woodstock".

Strike on International Women's Day

For more than 100 years, women around the world have been demonstrating for equality and against oppression and discrimination on March 8, International Women's Day. Through the movement, the Bonn market place on Saturday also becomes a place for discussion, exchange and strike. The organisers of the Women's Strike Bonn want to enlighten and create a space for meeting. Therefore the strike will also take place one day before the actual women's day of struggle. "On Sunday there is nothing going on in the city centre", Julia Schenkel, organiser of the strike, explains.

Bonn Vitality Fair

The topic of health, vitality and hygiene is currently in the spotlight. The 2nd Bonn Vital Fair offers a suitable space for exchange and innovations around "Being vital and staying healthy". The trade fair, organised by the General-Anzeiger, shows the current state of affairs in the fields of nutrition, therapy, sports and other modern medical approaches. Entry to the event is free of charge.

Lloyd Cole at the Pantheon

Lloyd Cole: The Englishman with a flair for extraordinary songs is a philosopher, musician and writer in one person. The audience at the Pantheon can hear what makes up Cole pop. There he presents his new album "From Rattlesnake to Guesswork".

Mario Barth at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne

No German comedian attracts more audiences into the big halls and arenas: Around eight million people have attended a show by the fun maker Mario Barth (47) in the past 20 years. The Berliner's programmes are mainly about the everyday life of the sexes, the current one is entitled "Men are lazy, say the women". Barth will be a guest in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. And in the autumn he officially celebrates his stage anniversary with the very first programme "Men are pigs, but women are also" in the "2.0" version.

"Moving Shadows" by the Mobilés

New programme, old name: The Cologne ensemble Die Mobilés has given the cult show "Moving Shadows" a general overhaul on the occasion of its 40th stage anniversary and now once again lets the shadows dance. Eight young artists seemingly merge with each other behind a screen, become diggers and motorcycles, flowers and animals, buildings and great art - always caught in transformation and always on the way to something new.

The Mobilés have already thrilled millions of viewers with their performances and won two prizes at the world's largest comedy festival "Juste puor rire" in Montreal, a feat that no other group has ever achieved before. Now they want to enchant with more poetic images.
