Bonn/Region · Winter is just around the corner and the first Christmas markets in Bonn and the region are opening. Our overview shows the fun and interesting events that can be found this coming weekend, with plenty of activities that include concerts and exhibitions, if you want to escape the cold.

Friday, November 22nd

Bonn Christmas Market

The Christmas tree in the market square is in place and the first stalls have been set up: On Friday, the Christmas market in Bonn's city centre opens. Until 23 December, more than 170 stalls will be open daily from 11 a.m. On Eternity Sunday (24 November), the Christmas market will, however, be closed.

Photo exhibition '50 Jahre Wachtberg' (50 years of Wachtberg)

This last summer, the Wachtberger celebrated the 50th birthday of their community with a large procession. To mark the anniversary, the photo exhibition in the Wachtberger town hall can be visited until the end of December. Pictures of photographers from the Fotoclub Wachtberg will be on display.

Song Trang at the GOP Bonn

Since the beginning of November the GOP Theatre in Bonn has a new show. In cooperation with the “Vietnam Circus Federation” the show offers an insight into the Vietnamese soul, with 13 artists. Three more shows will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Captain Book in Bonn

The Rheinische reading festival Käpt'n Book offers children and young people many different events on the subject of books over a period of several weeks. In addition to numerous readings by authors, theatre and musical events are also on the programme for the final weekend. Manfred Mai and Martin Lenz play, sing and read in the Lannesdorf library.

Medieval market in Siegburg

The Christmas Market in Bonn is not the only one to open at the weekend: in Siegburg, visitors to the medieval market can embark on a journey through time. In addition to hearty dishes and warming drinks, master craftsmen and jugglers also show off their skills. After the opening on Saturday, the Christmas Market will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. until 22 December, and until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Fourth Bonn Book Fair

The Bonn Book Fair will take place for the fourth time in the Brotfabrik in Beuel. Bookworms will be able to gain insight into literature from Bonn and the region. 30 authors, publishers and institutions will present their works.

Highlights 2019 in Bonn

Each year, the winning entries of the nature photo competition are chosen and then exhibited throughout Germany. Since the beginning of September they can be seen in the Museum Koenig in Bonn. Come and marvel at these impressive photographs.

COMING UP:

Wachtberg Nativity Play: Visit this live Christmas nativity play with horses, sheep, oxen and donkey, dog and goats. After the play, the children are allowed to pet the animals that were in the play. Food and beverages available. It is suggested to dress warmly, including warm shoes and perhaps to even bring a blanket.
