Bonn · Since Thursday evening, Bonn's city centre is shining again in bright colours. Read all about what "Bonn shines" has to offer this year and what you need to know about the event, during which the shops will open on Sunday by the way.
In the calendar of major events in Bonn's city centre, "Bonn shines" has found a firm and secure place. So, this year the city shines again in bright colours. The event started on Thursday, 31 October, and "Bonn shines" will end on Sunday, 3 November.
Until then, light installations will be installed in the city centre, allowing a somewhat different view of places like the university or the Beethoven statue on Münsterplatz. Objects on Friedensplatz and at Sterntor are also illuminated by LED spotlights.

A children's carousel and children's bungee are offered for the little guests on the Münsterplatz, the Lephene-Herbst dance school invites them to dance together on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. in front of the stargate under the motto "We make Beethoven shine". The light installations at "Bonn shines“ are switched on at dusk and at 10 p.m. the fairytale lights go out again. Those who want to relax a bit can take part in events in the cloister of the cathedral under the title "Stillness in Motion". The light show can be watched from about 5 pm to 11 pm.
The last day of the event on Sunday, 3 November, will also be an open Sunday in Bonn city centre. Not only will the shops be open from 1 pm to 6 pm, but the Christmas lights at the city gates will also be switched on to celebrate the festival.
