Anyone who visited a branch of the Voigt bakery and confectionery chain at the weekend stood in front of empty shelves or some that were stocked with bakery products from other companies. As Managing Director Theo Voigt confirmed to the GA on request, the Heimerzheim-based company stopped production for four days. “Our bakery in Swisttal had become too small, and we have been working for some time on its expansion and modernisation at the same time,” explained Voigt. “This led to short-term complications.” For safety reasons, production had been halted for a few days.

The company informed customers in shops with notes and via employees that the bakery goods on sale came from partner companies. "From Tuesday, however, our familiar range of bakery products will again be available in the shops," Voigt assured.
